Mid-Day Meal Scheme

Objective: To enhance enrolment retention and attendance and simultaneously improve nutrition levels
Eligibility

Every child in every government and government aided primary school, upper primary (till Class VIII) (age group of 6-14 years)
Also applicable to unrecognised Madrasas/Maqtabs supported under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan

Every child (Class I to VIII) be provided hot cooked meal having nutritional standards of 450 calories and 12 gm of protein for primary (I- V class) and 700 calories and 20 gm protein for upper primary (VI-VIII class), free of charge every day except on school holidays.
Other provisions

If the Mid-Day Meal is not provided in school on any school day due to non-availability of food grains or any other reason, the State Government shall pay food security allowance by 15th of the succeeding month.
The School Management Committee mandated under Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 shall also monitor implementation of the Mid-day meal Scheme.

Timelines

Right to get unemployment allowance in case employment is not provided within fifteen days of submitting the application or from the date when work is sought.
Receipt of wages within fifteen days of work done

Helped in increasing rural household income
Scheme earlier focused on community assets and now individual assets have also been included
The scheme is known to have high multiplier effects through boosting consumption demand in rural areas.

The national average of NREGA daily wage in 2019 is 179/-
Barring three states, NREGA wages in st ates are lower than that of state minimum wages in violation of law
Centre is planning to revise the wages and linked to updated inflation index

NREGA daily wages will be indexed to CPI- Rural. Before it was CPI - Agriculture Labor

CPI rural will also include non food items like heath care and education and is more than CPI-AL

How wages are fixed

Union Ministry of Rural Development annually fixes a countrywide wage rate under MGNREGA based on consumer price index for agricultural labourers
Under the Minimum Wages Act, State Labour dept. dec ides Minimum wages in that state and annually revises its wage rate under after adjusting inflation.
Barring 3 states, MNREGA wages are lower than their respective state minimum wages
A case was pending in SC that how come MNREGA was less than that of state minimum wages

The objective of the SC/ST Hub is to provide professional support to entrepreneurs from the SC/ST and also promote enterprise culture and entrepreneurship among them.
It will work towards strengthening market access/linkage, capacity building, monitoring, sharing industry best practices and leveraging financial support schemes
It would also enable Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) to fulfill the procurement target set by the government.
The Public Procurement Policy 201 stipulates that 4 per cent of procurement done by Ministries, Departments and CPSEs would have to be from enterprises owned by SC/ST entrepreneurs.

ZED Scheme aims to rate and handh old all MSMEs to deliver top quality products using clean technology.
It will have sector-specific parameters for each industry.
It was given for producing high quality manufacturing products with a minimal negative impact on environment.

To cover all households with atleast one Basic Bank Account with RuPay Debit card having inbuilt accident insurance cover of Rs.1 lakh.
An overdraft facility upto Rs.5000/- after satisfactory operation in the account for 6 months.
A Life Cover of Rs.30,000/- to those beneficiaries who open their accounts for the first time from 15.08.2014 to 31.01.2015.

Four important components

It only eases the entry level burden to the poor to get electricity connection
But the poor would often not be in a position to pay regular electricity bills, which in turn could result in disconnection
