North Atlantic Treaty organisation NATO

Started aftermath of world war 2 and been acting against Russia till cold war ended in 1989
The members agreed that an armed attack against any one of them in Europe or North America would be considered an attack against them all

In Early 1990, NATO extended to non-member countries of other organisations
Works by consensus and consultations happened in North Atlantic Council
No exclusive NATO army. Every countries army comprises NATO army if required. And common spending shared
Not all European countries are members
